You've gotta see it to believe it!!!
DotA... wow. We've come so far since microing that giant wisp named GOD, haven't we? But DotA can be so much more, and let's face it, soon it will be. Like Warcraft and Starcraft before it, DotA is going to be big. Very, very big. Soon, we're going to have Waaagh!TV and televised games, money tournaments (these have already started in Europe and Malaysia), LAN dates, and many other cool functions. DotA is entering the realm of sports -- and like all sports, we must even the playing field. There is a program that can do this, regardless of place or location. This program is called GG-Client, and it removes any and ALL lag in games. Everyone plays with hosting conditions. It's a beautiful thing, and I think if enough people begin to use it, Banlist will be incorporated into working with the program seamlessly. Hell, TDA might even create a channel on it, and if that happens, it will open the floodgates for so much more. Imagine -- full-quality in-houses with absolutely NO lag. The DotA players' heaven-on-Earth. Think about it. Guide for the Installation and USE of GG-client 1. First things 1st, YOU need to make an account. Go here: REGISTER and make your way through the screens until you have an account, and have activated it through your email. 2. It's time to download the actual application. Go here: DOWNLOAD, and on the top left of your screen, you will see the "Download GGClient" button. Click that, and proceed to download the application. It is easiest if you save this to your desktop. ![]() 3. When GGclient is finished downloading, it should appear wherever you sent it. Double-click on the icon, and work your way through the setup process. There is no need to change any of the settings. 4. Start up the client by clicking on the icon. This will bring you to a login screen, where you will enter your registered account name (from step 1). Hit the "Login" button. 5. On the left of your screen, there will be a bunch of games under "LAN games". Click "Warcraft III The Frozen Throne", and then then in the top-middle of your screen press, "America", and then "USA". You are now in the USA channel. ![]() 6. There are 2 button on the bottom-right of your screen, above the "Send" key. First, hit the "Set game path" button. Highlight "Warcraft III Frozen Throne", and under the "Game Executable Path", browse for where your War3 file is. It will usually be under: "C:/Program Files/Warcraft 3". Hit "Apply" when you are done. ![]() 7. To start a game, hit the 2nd button above "Send", called "Start Game". This will start your Warcraft 3 program, and all you need to do now is click "LAN" in your Warcraft 3 starting menu. FOR HOSTS ONLY: 1. You will need to do everything above, but you will also have to host the game through Warcraft 3's LAN. This is done by hitting the 2nd button above "Send", called "Start Game". This will start your Warcraft 3 program, and all you need to do now is click "LAN" in your Warcraft 3 starting menu. Then you will want to hit "Create Game", and host the newest version of DotA. Watch DotA LIVE?!?!?!? "GGTV version 0.5 is out and integrated in to the Client. By now you can simply watch live game or review past games on GGClient. You can click lobby---> GG-Gaming services---->GGTV , select channel and watch. Alternatively you can also click GGTV button in the banner. When you are on the client and live game started, you will receive a system message telling you the game has started. You can just click the Watch button and watch live game." ![]() If you want to view game in full screen mode, simply click setting and go to GGTV setting to set. ![]() That is so Freakin AWESOME!!!That's All Folks! If you have any questions, we will be watching this post, so don't hesitate to ask it. We will be making a FAQ eventually, so don't worry about asking any stupid questions! :P Created by SoccaPractice and Pie.Cr3w |

i doubt dota will ever reach a breakout point because spectating a dota game is simply not viable. 2 hour games with rare highlight actions.... but dont get me wrong, i know dota is fun as hell to _play_ but from the spectator point of view, just no.

You should make this as a tutorial under contributions instead. And dunno if its just me, but the colored text u made is showing really small?
But ye lets see, something needs to be done to make the game more attractive to spectators

Nicely done Matt. I'd just like to say, all I helped with was the introduction. And to the guy who said a two hour game of watching... try watching a DOTA audio / shoutcast+waaagh!tv and tell me it's boring
